Homing Ocean QC Container Line Limited (QCCL) was incorporated as a Public Limited Company in Bangladesh with a paid up capital of USD 10,854,363 and was enlisted with Dhaka Stock Exchange. The company started its activities back in 1996 with these objectives : To become the leading feeder operator of Bangladesh. To achieve the highest market share within shortest possible time. To make a significant contribution to the economic growth of Bangladesh through its inimitable effective haulage service. The primary concept of the business is to carry containers between Chittagong and various ports of Asian Region. At present, QCCL's modern cellular container vessels are fully engaged in generating effective service in Bangladesh (Chittagong, Mongla) - Singapore (Singapore) - Malaysia (Port Klang, Tanjung Pelepas) - India (Haldia).with the implementation of standard customer service, effective marketing and modern business concepts, today QCCL has established itself as the market leader, while it has held this position for the last two consecutive years. As shown in the graph below, QCCL has gained 28% market share in 2001 & 26% market share in 2002, maintaining a 6% leading difference from our nearest competitor (the second best market share holder) in both the years.

As an evidence of significant expansion, QCCL has also introduced the use of private handling equipments at Chittagong Port. Gradually the number of its handling equipments have increased to such a large extent that a separate division (Intermodal Logistics) has been formed.

QCCL is equipped with young, energetic and skillful workforce at its Dhaka, Chittagong & Khulna Offices in Bangladesh, and in its other two own offices in Singapore & Malaysia. The introduction of the latest high-tech communication & administrative system such as SOFTSHIP has ensured smooth flow of information among all the offices and the ports and has made the operational activities more effective.
